Guild Wars 2 Roleplaying Community

For those of you who pre-purchased Guild Wars 2, headstart access begins August 25th at midnight pacific time (GMT-7:00), instead of the official release date of August 28th. It makes you wonder if this is soft launch really just a pre-release beta disguised as an early launch. But no character data will be wiped before official launch, so this is as good as launch for those of us with headstart access. So enjoy!

Also, feel free to stop by our community forum and post about your expectations for launch, or how you are planning for your guild to function, or what will be your first goal once in-game!

ArenaNet has announced on their blog the launch date for Guild Wars 2 to be Tuesday, August 28th. This is very exciting stuff! More buzz around this announcement will continue to bounce around the blog-o-sphere for a good while.

In other news, we have announced the winner for the "Stir the Pot" contest on this forum post. Congratulations!

The Guild Wars 2 Roleplaying Community now has a presence on Enjin. Though we're still located at gwrpc.org, this is our portal on the Enjin network for those of you who find yourselves hanging out on this site.

If you want to leave a message on this site's Wall or Shoutbox, you're welcome to do so! Also, feel free to add yourself as a member of the site to allow others to see your membership and find out about us. Finally, head on over to the Forum now if you want to have a conversation about Guild Wars 2 and or participate in a community discussion about RP.

You can access the chat via the new link on the top navbar, when you're logged into the forum. You can also use the shoutbox directly from any page in the forum. The shoutbox is located below the statistics at the bottom of the page (above the copyright). The new Chat module has a number of chat rooms available for ad-hoc RP, and a private channel (not visible from the shoutbox) for community chat. Though not as responsive as Skype or other chat clients, this could easily be used for community events and other social interactive needs. Here's a screenshot of the main chat window.

Here at gwrpc, we're looking for new members and new conversations on the forum, following our most recent Guild Wars 2 beta weekend event. There's a lot to talk about!

In the spirit of good fun and competition, coupled with the obligatory incentive, we're announcing our first ever contest on the site! Starting today, if you create a new topic discussing anything related to GW2 that stirs the pot, you will be entered to win a gift of in-game GEMS at launch worth $15. You are allowed and encouraged to invite guild mates and friends to come join in the conversation and "bump" your posts to help you win! Also, drawing a moderator into the conversation will count towards qualification!

The contest will run from Monday April 30th 2012 until Monday June 11th 2012 at 12 PM CDT (noon central). The contest may be extended if there are no qualifying topics at that time. Qualifying topics (and the topic starter) will be entered into a drawing to be held on Friday June 15th. Multiple qualifying topics per user will result in multiple entries into the drawing. The winner will be notified via private message, and will be responsible for replying with an in-game character name (or account name) for the account that will receive the prize.

Terms and conditions. The winning topic MUST:

• comply with general forum etiquette and any/all site rules (no excessive swearing, abusive posts, etc.)
• be at least 2 pages of replies (20 posts, including yours)
• contain posts from at least 5 different people (including you)
• NOT contain two consecutive replies by any participant (both posts will not be counted towards the post minimum, editing posts IS allowed as always)
• NOT contain replies such as "bump", "reply", etc. (these will not be counted towards the post minimum, and may result in a temporary ban)
• NOT contain off-topic replies (these will not be counted towards the post minimum)

The site admins/moderators reserve the right to add to or modify this list of terms and conditions at any time, as necessary for well-being of the community. However, qualifying topics will not be disqualified except for abusive posts or other reasonable violations of site usage policies or rules.
