The Order of Ghaldron Terrace [GoT] are the seekers of the golden tree and the hidden realm of Ghaldron Terrace. The order consists of a group of valiant heroes that emerged from the aftermath of the recent events which tore Tyria asunder. 1070 AE Before the Searing, Maximus Delorius was content to dream of a golden tree and a faraway land his father called Ghaldron Terrace. When his father died in faithful service to Ascalon, Maximus felt empty, and sought meaning for his life. Piecing together stories his father told him, he began to seek answers for missing links in knowledge of the golden tree of Ghaldron Terrace. Just a week before the Searing, Maximus embarked on a mission far to the south-west of Ascalon City, looking for a book his father told him was buried in the snowy mountains of the Shiverpeaks. When he arrived at the location his father had told him about, the book was no where to be found. Instead, buried in the snow, was a scrap of cloth from an expensive looking garment. Maximus knew he must seek the owner of this lost garment, and find the book his father promised him. 1072 AE The founder of [GoT], Maximus Delorius came out of the Searing without breaking stride from his ultimate goal of finding the golden tree. Having been faithful to prince Rurik of Ascalon, Maximus was later offered a high position in the Ascalon military. With hopes of finding the golden tree, Maximus politely refused, and instead began making preparations to travel to Cantha. He had gained several loyal followers who comprised the young guild named after the location Maximus sought, and he had need of a leader who could care for them while he was away. It was rumored that a young hero named Orion Nadja, called by some Protector of the Empire, wore a tattoo of a golden tree on his shoulder. If this rumor was true, Orion could be a valuable ally in Maximus' quest, and possibly the man to lead the guild in his stead. 1073 AE In Cantha, Maximus met with Orion, and formed a partnership that would prove instrumental in the quest for Ghaldron Terrace. Then, Maximus set out on a personal mission to find the missing book that would reveal the location of the golden tree. Orion, now the de facto leader of GoT, took residence on the Isle of Meditation, and established a training ground for heroes that would protect Tyria, Cantha, and Elona. Some of these heroes would take on the quest of seeking the golden tree, and some would not. However, the guild grew into a tight-knit family, and loyalty was strong. 1075 AE Two years after the establishment of the guild hall on the Isle of Meditation, Orion received a letter from Maximus, detailing specific instructions on the guild's role in finding Ghaldron Terrace. With several members whose training was complete, Orion and a contingent from [GoT] set out on a perilous quest for an artifact of great importance to the quest for the golden tree. |
